OUR HISTORY

Established in 1976, Hudson Machine & Tool (Hammond, Wisconsin) was purchased by Mike Shaver in 1993. “We didn’t have a CNC (computer numerical control) machine back then,” says Shaver. “It was pretty much a manual tool shop.” Since then, the operation has grown from a staff of four to over 150 employees, averaging 20 years of related experience. Hudson Machine & Tool is now part of a family of companies. Noble-X, Inc. companies include full-service CNC Machine and Fabrication Shops with 4 locations and is the largest machine shop in Western Wisconsin.

Hudson Machine & Tool houses dozens of CNC stations and large- capacity machining capability in its 128,000-square-foot facility to produce metal and plastic parts for a variety of industries, ranging from convection tube sheets for ethylene furnaces to equipment for food services, material handling, ethanol manufacturing, heavy construction and high-speed weighing. In addition, Noble-X offers welding and structural steel fabrication.

By responding to quotation requests within 48 hours, maintaining flexibility with 24/7 production and remaining adaptable to size and detail, Hudson can serve a broad customer base in a timely manner. Hudson also operates in a just-in- time (JIT) delivery mode, when needed.

“Our approach has been to carve a distinct niche,” says Shaver. “We operate without maintaining a sales force, and we work with customers who have their own design and engineering staff, so we can concentrate on machining at the highest level of excellence.”
